About the event

This workshop will be most useful for people operating a landscaping business and will be presented in Spanish by Ramiro Magallanes, a native Spanish speaker with eight years in pollution prevention and in-language technical training.

You’ll learn how to identify and maintain green stormwater infrastructure, such as rain gardens and vegetated swales that absorb rainwater. We'll also cover how to prevent grass clippings, fertilizer, or trash from entering storm drains. There will be a hands-on session on how to respond to spills, such as gasoline or oil from your equipment, using a spill kit.

Training is free thanks to the sponsorship of Skagit County and the cities of Anacortes, Burlington, Mount Vernon, and Sedro-Woolley.
