About the event
This workshop series will explore local pastures with special guests and SCD planners to help you bring stewardship practices to your own farm! Participants can attend one, two, or all three classes!
June 6th: Pasture Management and Soil Testing. Located in Mount Vernon, we will be discussing the basics of pasture management and how this CD client used soil test results to manage his fields.
June 20th: Rotational Grazing, Hay Making, Mowing and Using a No Till Drill. Located in Bow, learn about organic pasture management and come see the Districts No Till Drill and how using it properly can help you and your pastures.
July 11th: Building for Horses and Spreading Manure. Located in Bow, come learn how to build for your horses, from chore efficiency to the size of the gravel for drainage, this CD client has thought of it all and has adapted through a lifetime of experience. A recently installed manure bin allows them to effectively compost manure and use the SCD manure spreader to apply the finished product to their fields at agronomic rates.
To respect our hosts, farm locations will be sent to participants who have RSVP'd below one week prior to the event. If you have any questions in the meantime, please email taylor@skagitcd.org
