What we do

We provide free, voluntary, confidential help and education about land and resource stewardship tailored to each operation and its goals.

​Conservation districts are non-regulatory, which means we do not enforce any laws or rules.

Farming

We'll help you can create a practical, step-by-step guide to help you reach your goals while protecting the natural resources on your property. ​​​​Together, we’ll come up with actions that make your land easier to manage, more efficient, and more sustainable.

Forestry

Managing forest ecosystems can be challenging and complex. Our District provides assistance with:

  • forest management and planning,

  • wildfire risk assessment and preparedness,

  • and more.

Clean Water Assistance and Education

We have a variety of clean water education programs for Skagit county youth and adults as well as programs to assist you with a variety of restoration and habitat improvements

Our office is open to the public ​Monday- Friday ​8 am - 4:30 pm. While not required, we encourage you to make an appointment in before visiting to ensure a staff member is available when you stop by.

Board Meetings are held every 4th Wednesday of each month at 7:30am in the conference room of Skagit Conservation District, unless otherwise noted.

 

The meeting is open to the public and they are encouraged to attend either in person or via Teams.​

Public records requests should be sent to the Public Records Officer, Kelsey Freeman, at kelsey@skagitcd.org ​​​​Records are available for inspection and photocopying by appointment during our regular office hours (excluding legal holidays).
