A Forest Conservation Plan is a management plan that helps you reach your individual ownership objectives while integrating protection and\or enhancement of multiple forest resources. An approved plan qualifies a forest landowner for financial assistance and satisfies many county, state and federal government requirements.
Resources addressed in a Forest Conservation Plan include forest health; timber and wood products; soils; water quality; riparian and wetland areas; fish and wildlife habitat; threatened and endangered species; cultural resources; aesthetics and recreation; and agro-forestry/specialty forest products. Forest conservation planning helps landowners and cooperators implement best management practice (BMPs) that are financially rewarding and ecologically sound.
The District Service Forester will visit your woodland to evaluate your resources and help you develop a plan that works for you. He can also provide you with access to publications concerning special interests such as deer damage. Assistance is customized to meet your specific needs and objectives.
