Skagit Conservation District offers civil engineering services for soil and water conservation projects in Skagit County. Services include project planning, design, and assistance with obtaining permits and regulatory agency approval. In some situations, SCD may be able to assist in identifying public funding opportunities for project construction. Recent SCD engineering projects have included:

Design and permitting of projects to remove fish passage blockages, including placement of new bridges and pipe arch culverts on Skiyou Slough, Red Creek and Klahowya Creek.

Comprehensive watershed characterization and engineering.  Feasibility study for improving water quality and flood water management in the No Name Slough watershed.

Design, permitting, and funding assistance with bank stabilization projects on East Fork Nookachamps Creek

Design, permitting, and funding of wetland habitat and nearshore habitat enhancement project

Storm water management planning

Design and permitting of beaver pond water level controls

Design of irrigation systems for small farms

Fish ladder design

Design and permitting of light duty small livestock crossing bridges

Technical assistance for low impact residential development
